Scripturally, parents are to be the primary disciplers of children. We feel it is our responsibility to EQUIP parents for this endeavor, but also to support and partner with them in discipling their children. We place a high value on families. We are committed to help you as a parent give your child a solid foundation on which to make wise choices, build lasting relationships, and to put their hope and faith in God.

a SHIFT in parenting

God’s original plan for discipling the nations is through parenting. The church was never intended to be a substitute for the home. As the staff, leadership, and volunteers here at Grace Church, we see ourselves as supplementary disciplers of the kids, partnering with parents to be the primary disciplers. Parents are the primary faith influencers in their children’s lives by design.

Helping children grow in their relationship with God is a biblical partnership that involves the family and the church as we revisit the original blueprint for success through (2) primary commands for parents:

Deuteronomy 6:4-9 says:

“Hear, O Israel!

The Lord is our God, the Lord is one!”

You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart.

You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up.”

Faith Talks are intentional times set aside at least once each week for conversation around the Scripture with your family. For parents with young children, Faith Talks are the primary vehicle for leading your children along the path between each milestone. In Proverbs 22:6, spiritual training takes place one step at a time in the context of everyday life. Relationship is your priority, the Bible is your handbook, and life is your classroom.
